This is one of the sweaters that I created in January of 2019 but didn't write down the pattern. I am going to try to write the pattern out here but have not figured out sizing yet. What you would need to do is work the foundation chain and measure it across the back of your shoulders to where you want the sleaves to start on your upper arms. Mine would be considered a large size.
This is the pattern that I figured out from counting the stitches:

Abbreviations:
CH -  chain, SK - skip, SC - single crochet, DC - double crochet, FPDC - front post double crochet, BPDC - back post double crochet

Instructions:

Back Panel:
Row 1: Work a dc foundation chain with 58 stitches
Row 2 - 31: Ch 2, dc in the same stitch, ch 1, sk 2 stitches, 3 dc in the next stitch, ch 1, for 31 rows
Row 32: Ch 2, dc in each stitch across
Row 33 - 35: Ch 2, dc in the same stitch, fpdc around the next dc stitch, bpdc around the next dc stitch for 3 rows

Edging:
Sc up the side, sc across, sc down the side, fasten off

Front Panels (make 2):
Row 1: Work a dc foundation chain with 31 stitches
Row 2 - 31: Ch 2, dc in the same stitch, ch 1, sk 2 stitches, 3 dc in the next stitch, ch 1, for 31 rows
Row 32: Ch 2, dc in the same stitch and each stitch across
Row 33 - 35: Ch 2, dc in the same stitch, fpdc around the next dc stitch, bpdc around the next dc stitch for 3 rows

Edging:
Sc up the side, sc across, sc down the side, fasten off leaving a long piece of yarn to slip stitch the panels together, weave in all the ends

I chained about 10 to 15 stitches to make the front ties and left the tail long to connect them to each panel in the front where you want it to close

This sweater works up pretty fast and easy and can be worn with a tank underneath or a light long-sleeved blouse depending on the weather. It is very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Thanks so much for stopping in and please let know what you think and if you do make one, I would love to see the finished creation! If you do want to submit a photo, please visit my Facebook page and upload it there.

This is a very lightweight and comfy oversized shrug that is perfect for summer.

Lightweight summer shrug that is very easy and breezy to work up!

One size fits most, with instructions to make it bigger in the pattern.

Gauge - 7 repeats of the main pattern to get 4". If you have any questions, please contact me.

I used Simply Soft by Caron in Coffee Latte Brown but I also like "I Love This Yarn!" in Tweed by Hobby Lobby.

I used about 5 skeins of the Caron yarn.

Please visit my Facebook page and leave a comment if you like this pattern or if you have any problems.

Row 5: ch 3, turn, dc in same st as ch and in next 5 sts, *ch3, sk next 3 sts, dc in next st, * repeat from* to last 5 sts, dc in last 5 sts – 37 dc & 28 ch 3 sts

Row 6: ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as ch and in next 5 sts, *3 hdc in ch 3 sp, hdc in next st, * repeat from* to end, hdc in last 5 sts – 121 sts Row 7: ch 2, turn, hdc in same st as ch and in every st to end – 121 sts

Work 3 more rows of row 7 – 121 sts

Make sure it fits:

Fold shrug in half as shown in the diagram below, pin or clip sides 7 inches below the fold for armholes. Put the shrug on to make sure it fits comfortably; if it is too tight or just doesn’t fall the right way, add more rows until it fits the way you want. Fasten off & weave in yarn.

Assembly:

Whipstitch side seam up to 7 inches from the fold on both sides. (See diagram) Weave in yarn.

Edging:

Right side facing, join yarn to side edge and hdc in ea st around marking 1st hdc, as follows: 1 sc in ea hdc row, 2 sc in ea dc row.

Do not sl st to join, continue to hdc in a spiral for 2 more rounds, fasten off and weave in all ends. All finished! ☺

This top is super cute and very comfy! I used mecerized cotten blend yarn but cannot remember what brand. I will look try to find what brand and color it is and update this post as soon as I can. I made it in large size and it is perfect with a tank underneath.

I love wearing it during the spring time and fall months. It is adviseable to use lightweight yarn that is soft that kind of drapes when finished.

You can find the free pattern on YarnInspirations, it is done by Caron brand yarn and reccomends that yarn. I chose not to use acrylic yarn for mine and rally like how it turned out.

Mine is different from the original photo shown above because I followed the video tutorial from The Crochet Crowd.

He created a diagram with the correct way to follow the patter and I will put the screenshot here:

So, as always I would love to see your finished work if you decide to work this project up for yourself! Post any photos or comments below and let me know what you think about this super cute top!

So I finished my second area rug and I really like how it came out! I used the famous Virus Shawl pattern but adapted it to make a square instead of a triangle. The pattern is a graph pattern but it's pretty easy to read.

Here is a photo of the graph pattern for the shawl:

I am going to write the pattern out assuming you are using just one color if you want to use more colors then change colors on the rows you want to get the desired color design.

Abbreviations:

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • sl st - slip stitch
  • sp - space

Okay so first make a magic circle then:

Round 1: ch 2, dc into the circle 19 times, sl st to top of ch 2

Round 2: ch 2, dc twice in each stitch around, sl st to top of ch 2

Round 3: ch 3, [dc, ch 1] in each stitch around, sl st around the ch 3

Round 4: *ch 7, skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 7, skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, [ch 4, sc in next ch 1 sp three times], repeat from * to end, sl st into first ch 1 sp

Round 5: sl st into ch 7 sp, ch 2, 10 dc into same ch 7 sp, 10 dc into next ch 7 sp, *[sc into next ch 4 sp, ch 4 twice], sc into next ch 4 sp, 10 dc into both ch 7 spaces, repeat from * to end, sl st to top of ch 2

Round 6: ch 2, dc in same st, dc in next 19 stitches, *sc into next ch 4 sp, ch 4, sc in next ch 4 space, dc in next 20 stitches, repeat from * to end, sl st to top of ch 2

Round 7: ch 3, work [dc, ch 1 in next st] and in each dc stitch to end skipping the ch 4 sp,  sl st around first ch 3

Round 8: sc into next ch 1 sp, *[ch 4, skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp] three times, ch 7, skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, ch 7,  skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp, [ch 4, skip next ch 1 sp, sc in next ch 1 sp] three times, ch 7, skip next three ch 1 spaces, sc in next ch 1 sp, repeat from * to end, sl st to first sc

Round 9: sc into first ch 4 sp, [ch 4, sc into ch 4 sp] twice, *10 dc into both ch 7 spaces, [sc into ch 4 sp, ch 4] twice, 10 dc in next ch 7 sp, repeat from * to end

Round 10: *sc into ch 4 sp, ch 4, sc into ch 4 sp, dc in each dc stitch, repeat from * to end, skip ch 4 sp & sl st to first dc st

Round 11: ch 3, *[dc, ch 1] in each dc st, skip ch 4 sp, repeat to end, sl st around first ch 3

Now just keep repeating rounds 8 to 11 until you have the desired size.

The following video is a tutorial on how to get started.
